Psalm 57:5

Psalm 57:5

Be exalted, O God

It’s time for some words of praise stimulated by the content of this verse: -

·      “Be exalted in Your strength, Lord; we will sing and praise Your might.” Psalm 21:13

·      “Be still, and know that I am God; I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth.”Psalm 46:10.

·      “The Lord is exalted over all the nations, His glory above the heavens. Who is like the Lord our God, the One who sits enthroned on high, who stoops down to look on the heavens and the earth?” Psalm 113:4-6

The birth, the life, the death, the resurrection, the ascension and the glorification of Jesus Christ is all the historic evidence that we need that God is God. He is to be feared by the wicked and adored by the righteous. In His saving power He has revealed His true character; His patience, His faithfulness, His love of mankind and the truth of His Word. However, that is still not enough for the world to acknowledge and honour Him and, as they will not do so willingly, He will, one day, make every knee bow and every tongue confess that Jesus Christ is Lord. He will be exalted above the heavens and upon the earth. As we hasten, rapidly, towards that day let us not be slow to acclaim Him. The enemy hates it, which is sufficient reason to sing out our praises. However, He is worthy of all glory, honour and praise, and that is a powerful reason to exalt His name. After all, we are only practicing and preparing for the incredible sights and sounds that will surround us when the King of Glory comes. So let’s take some time out to exalt Him today, let’s lift Him up on the throne of our hearts and let Him know that we understand who He is!  Hallelujah!
