Psalm 29:10

Psalm 29:10

And God said, “Let there be a vault between the waters to separate water from water.” So God made the vault and separated the water under the vault from the water above it. And it was so. God called the vault “sky.” And there was evening, and there was morning—the second day. And God said, “Let the water under the sky be gathered to one place, and let dry ground appear.” And it was so. 10 God called the dry ground “land,” and the gathered waters he called “seas.” And God saw that it was good. Genesis 1:6-10

We either believe that this “creative” event all happened “by accident” billions of years ago or that the division of land and water was caused by the design and power of a divine being at the beginning of earth time. In the same way, when God said to Noah, “I am going to bring floodwaters on the earth to destroy all life under the heavens” Genesis 6:17; we either believe that this did not happen or we believe that there is a God who can flood the earth if He so chooses. What God did in Noah’s day was to “uncreate!” He took the world back to the state described in the above verses. And then He uncovered the land once again! The choice about the ability of our God to do such things is ours and mine to make. David clearly has no doubts! “The Lord sits enthroned over the flood; the Lord is enthroned as King forever.” Frankly, I would rather side with a designer and put my money on a plan for us all, than just believe that everything happens by chance! And as there is a God and as He has the power to do whatever please Him, then I worship Him. If it were not for His love and grace expressed through Noah, I would be terrified of Him! If it were not for His love and grace expressed through Jesus, I would be terrified of Him! But I know, and you know, that He is merciful and patient and kind to His people. So, let us worship without fear but let us always be in awe of Him. He is King forever. Hallelujah!
