I hope that these regular postings will be a bit more than musings. Did you know that the Word of God, the Bible, is the only absolute truth available on earth? In our days of "fake news" and biased reporting it's a job to know who is telling the truth, so when we can have access to a book whose author knows everything and who dwells outside and beyond this planet, it's worth a read surely?
The Bible is not just theology or doctrine although these kinds of studies are important to its understanding. No, first and foremost the Bible is a spiritual book and it can only be understood with the help of the Holy Spirit. That's why so much theology is dull, it comes from men's intellect not from the Spirit. So ask God to help you to understand what He is saying to us and how His Word can apply to us in the 21st Century.
Our musings will begin with the Book that is central to the whole Bible, it's a collection of songs, praises and prayers that date from the time of Moses, around 1,400 BC, going forward to probably 500 BC. In other words these songs were compiled by different writers over a period of 900 to 1,000 years! Many of them are attributed to Israel's King David arguably one of the most spiritual men who ever lived and I promise there will be plenty of surprises as we uncover their meaning and their relevance to modern day life.
So please hop on board the roller coaster and join me for the ride. I will try to post as regularly as possible. The "musings" will be in the form of a commentary but hopefully we will dig down and discover some of the deeper mysteries hidden in these ancient songs and prayers.
By the way, I do not intend to write out all of the Scripture verses in each blog. Hopefully you will have a Bible available and open, so you can read the words for yourself.
